Having helped purchase and setup 5 new Samsung Chromebooks, at a very reasonable £229 each (even managed to get free cases thrown in from PC world), what's our first impressions?

Actually very good, they are quite small with an 11" screen, but once you get used to it, and for the things you will be using it for, its fine. They were easy to setup, we used Google Apps accounts that were already done, and you can take a photo with the camera above the screen to personalise your login.

The trackpad and keyboard are very good, works better than far more expensive laptops we have used in the past, battery life I'm told is excellent too, and the children using them have all picked everything up quickly enough, have to be careful not to go onto Google Plus though if under 13, as your account gets blocked!

Setting up adult filters was not so easy, we did install a little Chrome Web App, which does work, but can easily be disabled in the extension manager, we will be looking into a better way to do this in future.

All in all a great machine, especially if you are a Google Apps or Gmail user already, and happy working with docs and calendar etc, as well as Chrome apps, obviously cannot install things like Photoshop, but I will get one myself for meetings and travelling, as its perfect for that.
